Bonding Agents

PermaKote

CL Industries’ PermaKote is a one-part polymer-modified, cement-based coating specially formulated to increase performance and save time during application. Acting as a bonding agent and scratch coat, PermaKote delivers a superb link between properly prepared substrates and new plaster coats.

PermaKote eliminates the need for excessive pool substrate preparation such as sand blasting and stripping. More importantly, it provides the even hydration (curing) of plaster applications, which is especially beneficial when applying swimming pool plaster or any cement coating.

PermaKote is available in both white or gray, and is formulated with state of the art dry admixes that eliminate the use of liquid resins and make application easy, thus saving both time and money.

CLI PermaKote Select

PermaKote Select® is a two-part bonding agent with a cement-based coating designed to mechanically bond new pool plaster over existing plaster finishes and deck coatings. This cost-saving bond will reduce maintenance and repair expenses over the long term. PermaKote Select has the highest flexural strength, giving even the toughest angled areas maximum bond. It is the ultimate bond for the extreme needs.

PermaBond 800

PermaBond 880 is the latest generation of non-re-emulsifiable vinyl acetate polymer. It provides a “chemical key” between new and old cement, eliminating the need for hacking or scavelling walls, ceilings or floors. When added to sand/cement mortar (render or plaster), it will increase flexibility, tensile strength, impact and abrasion resistance. PermaBond 880 also increases the acid and alkali resistance of concrete and mortar.

AquaBond®

AquaBond® is a scientifically modified cement-based coating formulated for increased performance and time-saving application. Its advanced technology increases overall reliability, so warranty callbacks are virtually eliminated. Acting as a bonding agent and a scratch coat, AquaBond delivers a superb link between properly prepared substrates and new plaster coats.

The AquaBond system saves labor and equipment costs while virtually eliminating de-lamination problems. It makes excessive pool substrate preparation such as sand blasting or stripping a thing of the past, reducing the material needed for new plaster coat by up to 30%. More importantly, AquaBond helps promote the even hydration (curing) of plaster applications, which is especially beneficial when using an exposed aggregate surface.

Buttery soft and quick and easy to mix, AquaBond is sold in units of one 5-gallon pail of liquid resin and two 65-lb. bags of cement admix. AquaBond can be applied using a heavy nap roller or spray equipment. For additional mixing instructions, surface preparation, application techniques and coverage rates, please contact your CLI representative.
Advanced Technology, Superb Performance – there’s nothing like AquaBond!
